Powder Coating is a dry finishing process that uses finely ground powders of pigment and resins to coat a surface. Powder Coating uses electro statically charged technique in which the powders are charged so that the powder particles adhere to the metal surface and are then melted and fused together in the curing process.
This flowing and fusing of the powder in the curing oven creates a continuous coating which is very hard and has no porosity.
Powder Coating does not use solvents, there are no toxic chemicals released into the air, thus EPA regulations do not add expense to this process. Also for about the same cost as professionally applied paint, powder coating offers more durability and a superior finish.
Since its introduction almost 50 years ago powder coating has become the fastest growing finishing technology on the market.
